    About Me

    I'm a 25 year old guy in Norrk?ping, Sweden.

    I'm a food nerd, I love food, not just as in cooking and eating, but I love trying out new food produce, or doing something new with old ones that renews my view of them.
    I also love growing plants that can be used for food. Spending a lot of time in grocery stores, specially immigrant food stores like Thai food store, middle east food stores. I always buy just enough that I can carry when I've been to the Thai food store (I spend many winters in Thailand when I was little).
    I love teas too, specially chinese teas, I'm mostly interested in oolong teas, but white, green and red (black tea is called red when talking about chinese teas) are also interesting.

    There are a few foods I dislike enough I won't eat them at all:
    Surstr?mming (swedish rotten herring)
    Pork (I'm not a muslim or a jew or anything it just tastes awful)
    Milk (on its own, mixed with things and flavored it's fine)
    Oranges (all other citrus are fine though)
    Thyme and marjoram

    Other interests:
    *Reading and learning about not always useful things stuff online.

    *Drugs, using them, testing them, growing two of them: The opium poppy and cannabis sativa, which I grow a little here and there far out in the country in secrecy. I've tested something like 25 drugs, but there are some I haven't tried and will not try: meth, heroin and cocaine.

    *Listening to and making music (I must confess I haven't recorded a whole finished tune since 2002, I mostly play around)

    *Languages and translation. I am making a program that translates from indonesian to swedish, at this stage the output is fully comprehensible to a swede but the grammar and syntax gets really silly and wrong.
    I also translate software to Swedish, many firefox plugins for example several very popular ones. Some other software too like Notepad++

    Favorite Foods

    *Thai green and red coconut milk based curries.

    *Real well made hummus. And hummus is NOT supposed to be a side dip, it's a main dish, sure you often dip bread in it and have some nice salad with it, but the hummus itself is the main thing.

    *The swedish food that I like the most is boiled salmon. Boiled for a pretty long time with only, 5-10 allspice seeds, 3-5 bayleaves and a little salt for spice, which is only in thé water, the fish is later picked up from the water and deboned, so those spices have none or very minimal effect.
    Along with his fresh young potato is boiled with a few twigs of dill, and some salt.
    (young newly picked potato in the swedish summer should really not be missed by anyone. These potatoes, which are sometimesas tiny as pea, taste so completely different from full grown potatoes that have been stocked for a month or a whole year)
    Along with the salmon and fresh potato we have a sauce made out of mainly whipped cream, also has a little bit of mayonaise and plenty of the finer part of the dill, finely cut and mixed into the sauce, which goes along the potato and salmon. This dish is by tradition eaten outdoors and only in the summer (you can't get fresh potatoes except in the summer of course)

    *Frozen blueberries with a little sugar on (I pick like 15 liters (4 gallons) of blueberries every summer. Blueberries are the main subvegetation in most areas of Swedish forests. I freeze them for later then I take them now and then and when they are half thawed but still has some ice they are perfect.
