    About Me

My mother, Sassafrasnanc is a member and after months of convincing me to join, I did! Growing up with this kinda mother really excites you about food. Some of my favorite memories as a child were watching my mother cook and oh! her delicious food! Holidays are now my favorite time of year because I get a real home-cooked meal I remember from my childhood. And now that I'm of-age I can enjoy my mother's delicious drinks as well! My family really does mean a lot to me and even though we don't always get along, we stick together.
This year I am a senior at Brevard College, with a bachelor in music for performance. I'm a singer! Next year I will probably be somewhere far away at Graduate School. And after that who knows? Europe? Vienna? Paris? New York? All I know is that I will be doing what I love to do, and how many people can say that about their careers?

    Favorite Foods

My favorite foods are of course anything my mother cooks. Now that I am a vegetarian, I realize that many of my favorite foods she cooked were in fact meat-free! Her Benevolent Burritos that we concocted (the crunch is cabbage!) with her secret black beans are always a hit. I believe I have wrapped and eaten thousands of those, and they never get old. Her fried green tomato sandwiches with tempeh bacon are the best. And let's not forget mom's broccoli and squash casseroles.
Other than anything my mom makes, I love vegetarian sushi (sometimes I'll eat shellfish), spicy Thai food and Indian food, and good-old southern food like shrimp and grits. An every-day favorite of mine is homemade stir-fry and fried rice or noodles.
