"This is a really good soup. After making other soups containing bacon, I'd recommend this slight modification: when the bacon is done, put it in a small bowl of water until it's needed again, then drain before adding to the soup. That just ensures that the smokiness of the bacon doesn't dominate the other flavors. This soup was delicious!!"
