Phoenix, AZ
I'm 26 years old, and my husband and I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006 and moved to Phoenix, AZ, where we currently are!
I am a follower of Christ, and I try to live my life to glorify Him in everything. Jesus brings meaning to my life - with him I have abundant life, and without him I would be lost. I love to serve Him though serving others, and when that involves cooking or giving food to people, it's all the better! Food is such a basic, essential human need, and when you meet a person's basic physical need like that, doors are opened to be used by God to meet their deeper spiritual need, as well. The way to a person's heart really CAN be through their stomachs!
I love cooking, and I love having time for it now that I'm no longer in school! I don't have a favorite cookbook...there are things I like and dislike about all the ones I have. One I really like, though, is one from the 1970s that we received from MIL...it has a neat table of all the common spices and also has a description of them, as well as the types of foods they would go well with.
My husband and I love cooking together for other people, but we have very different methods of cooking. He's a "sniff-the-spices" kind of guy, and I'm a "follow-the-recipe-exactly" kind of girl. I'm learning, though.
Outside of cooking, I love photography, too. It's one of my passions.
Two of my favorite dishes are my mom's lasagna and my MIL's pizza.
Two of my favorite ethnicities of food are currently Thai and Greek, although that could change at any moment. I'm all about trying new types of foods. I spent a summer in Chicago, and it was pure bliss with all the amazing food!
