i am a graphic designer working in new york city and from home. this is about my 4th career or so, i just needed to give my right brain a little more exercise lol. i have been in banking and retail also. the one consistent thing has been my love for cooking. i am even married to a chef! we have 2 birds, one 'tiel and one sun conure. we just adopted a 3 year old mutt, who gives us a lot of joy. we have no children other than the canine and avian variety. : ) i do volunteer work at the local animal shelter as well.
even though i now have a creative profession, i still consider cooking to be my true creative outlet. therapy too! it's nice to have a site with so many like minded folks and such great recipes, although i admit that most of the time i do not follow as recipe as written.
you might describe what i like to cook as "international comfort food". i explore many cuisines, but rather than fancy i prefer homey and tasty. for the fancy stuff i go to a really nice restaurant. we are lucky, we have very many available to us.
