I am an LPN I work in pediatrics which I dearly love. For fun I like to garden and play runescape. I don't have much time for either but I work on gardening as much as I can.
When it comes to cooking I guess I'm quite typical, I've made the usual weekly meals for years. When my first child left home I began to experiment with recipes I saw on some cooking shows, mostly with my grill. When my second child left for basic training I kind of lived in the kitchen and grocery store. That's when I figured out that my ultimate television show would be one that combines a four season garden education with cooking!
My inspiration is all around me from restaurants that served a really good dish or a really bad dish to cooking shows and even from browsing garden seed books.
Pet-peeve, well I'm still learning to do many of the techniques used. I go rather crazy when my dish doesn't look anything like what I see on tv.
By far my favorite dishes are soups not really sure why. Next in line would be Japanese or Asian foods but I've been to nervous to try cooking them yet. I'm working on my gumption and have come to the point of selecting recipes and looking for Asian markets to visit in my area so the time is close!
I'm not famous for any dish, not that I haven't tried I've been working on the dishes I serve to my husband.
My favorite restaurant changes from a Mexican restaurant we stumbled on, to a cajun restaurant we happened to find on line in a city we visited.
My favorite chef I would have to say is Jamie at Home. I love the clean direct approach he has for cooking and so passionate about it being healthy.
