    About Me

    I had been a member here since 2003 , when we sold almost everything we owned and took off for 3 years travelling up the East coast of Australia. What an adventure.Up till then I had lived in the suburbs of Melbourne all my life. During our travels, we had no internet and how I missed the people on Zaar...lovely bunch. We have settled now in a beautiful part of Far North Queensland close to the outback. Now we are living in a house again [ we travelled in our mobile home] we reconnected to the net so here I am again. I lost all my saved recipes because I couldn't remember my email addy .[ Got the old lady brain lolol it has a hole in one side ]. We are very lucky where we live...almost beside a large
    lake in the middle of farming land which means we have fresh tropical fruit and almost any vegetable you can imagine available at farm gates with honesty boxes for your purchases. We also grow lots of different veggies , herbs and few fruit trees which we have to share with the fruit bats and other native wildlife.
    I work as a cook [3 of us share the job doing whatever is needed from actual cooking to washing dishes] in a State Govt. recreation centre....a place for shool camps and conferences .We can and have catered for 140, breakfast, lunch dinner...morning ,afternoon tea and supper.
    Depending on the numbers I work full time or part time. It's a wonderful job...get to interract with kids of all ages [ in this enviroment , they are nice to us cos we feed them ]without the angst that goes with parenting. We have been married for 37 years now and have 4 adult kids and 5 granchildren.
    I like nothing better than asking someone for a meal then finding things to feed them...cooking is the joy of my life.

    Favorite Foods

    My fav foods .....pretty ecletic mix lol.....pretty much anything except fish pork and eggs.I LOVE Middle Eastern ,
    Greek, Italian Thai Malaysian Cantonese [ or ANY Chinese food] Vietnamese Cambodian and of course CHOCOLATE.
