"Very quick to put together - and VERY tasty. We enjoyed this dish very much. We have a foreign student living with us and she hates fish. Didn't tell her about the fish sauce and she took 2 heaping helpings. Thanks for the recipe Chef Mariajane!"

I work in marketing and public relations and love my job. My partner is a vocational shops teacher, and he has 3 kids who all love being my guinea pigs! I like to think that I have been an inspiration to them in the field of cooking as they all like tryiing different cultural dishes. Two are vegetarians which keeps me on my toes!
I am a TOTAL foodie and spend most of my spare time planning menus and entertaining. I'm really not sure where I get the passion from ... my Mom cooked very plain food while I was growing up and does to this day. But after cooking and eating all my new recipes, her down home cooking has become very special.
Favorite things to cook have to include Mediterranean and Thai inspired recipes. A large Asian store just opened up in a nearby city and I'm so excited! Went in a week after grand opening and spent a whole hour just gazing (ok, and buying)!
I'm not sure that I'm famous for any dish ... people know that when they come over they'll be getting something I've never made before, so I guess that's what I'd be famous for!
*****'s Cafe ... a tiny little restaurant in our city has to be my favorite restaurant. The owner is a chef in his own right - each summer they close down the restaurant for 4 weeks and go back to China to teach cooking. Sezschwan is his specialty. Most fun is when you make a reservation and tell him to come up with something which he is most happy to do! I've never been disappointed.
