I am a native New Orleanian who is primarily French, Irish, English, and Spanish. I have a degree in Chemistry and work for the Federal Government. I am married to a college Chemistry professor and we have two cats. In my free time, I tutor math and science, paint, restore antiques, garden, and sew. Living in New Orleans has taught me a real appreciation for food. Since cooking is a real passion for me, I have probably a hundred cookbooks. The only thing I can say that I don't like about my life is that I have to watch my weight.
My favorite foods? A better question would be what isn't a favorite food. I am learning to bake but I learned how to cook while working in restaurants in college and from my father and maternal (French) grandmother. About the only thing I am famous for is experimenting on my friends. They all gladly come by to see what's cooking. Since I love to entertain at home versus a restaurant, it makes it a joy. As for a favorite restaurant, there are so many just in walking distance from my house that it would be impossible to choose.
