Shared Recipe Frank 'n' Corn Chowder

"I searched the web for the recipe I lost for this chowder, that hubby calls "our Frankenstein chowder." There were similar recipes out there but none that used canned milk. This is a "back of the box" type recipe from way back--one that we both love and I've endeavored to recreate from memory."

    Reviewed Quiche With Brie

"I made this a while back and absolutely loved it and marked the recipe "Excellent" (top of my own rating system) but forgot to write a review (my bad, lol). I didn't have a tart pan at that time so I just used a store-bought crust (Marie Callendar's frozen pie shells) and used that and it still came out wonderful. When I find brie on sale again, ..."

    About Me

Love cooking, of course. Love eating good food even more (& my waistline shows it too - lol). Hate the cleanup tho. I've lived in many places: MN, CA, NM, AZ, & am now in WA. I've traveled to many wonderful places in the US, Canada & Mexico & have found so many great restaurants along the way. Now I almost prefer making those wonderful meals at home for a fraction of the cost. I live with my ex-husband (we're best friends), 1 cat & 1 dog. We have 1 daughter, 2 granddaughters, & 2 great grandsons. Now that I'm retired, I have more time to collect recipes & cook. Since I got hooked on Zaar, I don't use my cookbooks much anymore. My favorite cookbook was the huge 3-ring binder that had all the recipes I'd collected from age 12 or so in it (about 35 yrs worth), but lost that in a fire about 10 yrs ago. It was my greatest loss after the photos, music & books. I've been searching to recapture some of those fabulous recipes that I haven't been able to duplicate since. In the meantime, I'm finding 100's of new recipes here on the Zaar to try--if I made 3 new dishes a day, I don't think I'd even be able to make all the ones I want to - lol.

    Favorite Foods

Love most food, except I don't eat red meat. Especially love Asian food, with Italian & Mexican close behind.
