"I love this dish, because it's cheap and healthy and my kids will eat it! We top this with Durkee fried onions, which adds a nice crunch, and probably too much fat, but still..YUMMM! This is also GREAT with GRILLED SALMON..especially if you dice the tomatos and cucumbers into a salad with lemon juice, garlic and parsley."

"Wonderful! I used a package of fresh spinach, chopped. I aso added some asiago cheese to the meat balls becasue I had some grated. In total I used about 1/2 cup of parmesan/asiago but I think that extra flavor is what made this soup so addictive! I also added six whole cloved of garlic while cooking and then fished them out at the end. Served..."

"This is similar to my MIL's "Palestenian salsa". My MIL makes it with a clove of garlic crushed with some dill seed instead of the cilantro. She also subistutes lime for lemon sometimes, and we don't cook the tomatoes. Still I think the taste would be similar. We eat this with everything in August when we have tons of tomatoes. I'll have to try i..."

"Great recipe....I prefer the tast of a litte ground cinnamon to the flavor of the sticks. Could chopped fresh coriander also be called cilantro? I think corinder is the seed of cilantro. Any way I made it with chopped fresh cilantro(which also makes a nice garnish and it turned out wonderful .... especially with extra slivered almonds! This has..."

"We eat this all the time, but use only Indian basmati rice. It should be made with brown lentils to be Palestinian. It is the most basic meal and super inexpensive and just delicious! True arabic comfort food; and healthy to boot! I have found that it sometimes needs to be cooked longer when you don't soak the lentils but you can just add a littl..."

"My grandmother also made these for me when I was a preschooler and she babysat me, only mine were always open faced. I always requested them by asking for "bread, BUTTER, peanut butter and jelly". I just wanted to make sure she didn't leave out the best part. Thanks for sharing!"

"I made this for a cabin full of teenagers on vacation with my friend's family, her teen age baby sitters and her teenage nieces and nephiews. This was such a hit with them, they requested I make it every morning AND teach them how to make it. By the end of the week we had evolved the recipe a little and we added a diced green and red pepper to t..."

"5 ++++++++++. This is now known as PINK macaroni and cheese in our house and it was a huge hit. I have had batches of this in the fridge constantly for almost a month now and DD requests it often. I make tomato soup with tomato paste and milk and still it's wonderful, you just need a little more liquid like milk or water. I'm also planning on t..."
