I am a foodie living in Philadelphia with my new husband in our new house. Over the past few years, cooking has become my passion, and I spend a LOT of time thinking and talking about food. My favorite cookbook is Simply in Season, "developed by Mennonite Central Committee to bring together consumption and a concern for justice." It aligns really well with my attitudes toward food, which are to eat mindfully and sustainably. We eat no meat in the house, though I'll eat fish sometimes while out. And we love dairy, but try to keep it organic. I'm very interested in local, sustainable, and organic foods.
Oh, this is tough. Favorite foods? Macaroni and cheese, french fries and chocolate chip cookies. Our favorite weeknight dinner is a mixture of greens, beans, and grains with yogurt sauce. My dinner party specialty is usually risotto, and I love serving it in an acorn squash. My favorite restaurant is the Abbaye, a little pub with great vegetarian fare, great french fries, and nice people.
