Reviewed Hummus Bi Tahina (Turkish Hummus)

"Just made your hummus today and it came out great. I had no problem with it since I avoided the hassle and used 2 cans of beans. Popped everything in the food processor and voila. We love lemon garlic and tahini and found the ratio is perfect. The only thing I added was a half tsp of cumin, since we Armenians love cumin. Thanks for posting...w..."

Shared Recipe Mu Shu Pork With Mandarin Pancakes

"I got this recipe from an old Chinese cookbook. You can find the Tiger Lily Buds and dried 'tree ears' in most Asian markets. We love this recipe! You can add chopped cabbage, but the original recipe doesn't call for it. I add it if I need to make a larger portion. I buy the Mandarin Pancakes at my local chinese take out place. You can make y..."

    Shared Recipe Rugalah

"This is one of the regular additions to my Christmas cookie platters. I make them with strawberry and apricot jam and I also make some with melted chocolate. Make a ganache by melting one cup of chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons of milk or half and half. Stir until combined. Spread ganache on dough instead of jam and then sprinkle nut mixture...."

    About Me

I'm a retired NY State Peace Officer, Red Cross volunteer. I'm also a stained glass artist, addicted to needlework, all types...favorite cookbook is my own! Recipes saved, borrowed or created over many years of cooking.

    Favorite Foods

Tough question! Love to make all types of ravioli. Armenian food (middle-eastern)...and Asian food...Famous for never making anything that tasted bad! Actually had an author (my Uncle Garo) call my lasagna the 'best east or west of the Rockies!' in his book. Don't have a favorite restaurant, although I really loved Emeril's in New Orleans, where I spent the winter working with the Red Cross.
