"This is a good crust as it doesn't get soggy, but the oatmeal doesn't cook quite enough to blend in well, taste-wise, with the cookie crumbs. Will use again, though, as it holds up well and is easy to make. Thanks for sharing! Update: made this again for a strawberry pie and this time coarsely ground the oatmeal in a mini-food processo..."
"Changed quite a bit about this, but am posting here to remember it, as this where the idea came from. First, cooked 2 slices bacon; sauteed most of an onion in the drippings, and then added and sauteed the prepared sprouts (cut off the ends and cut them in quarters). Mixed 1/4 cup maple syrup with the 4 tsp balsamic vinegar and poured over the s..."
"I am only rating the crust for these little tarts. This made about 45 little tarts for me. I used my muffin tins after spraying with Pam. I tripled my regular pecan pie filling for the 45 tarts, which was perfect. Thanks for sharing!"
"Sorry, but these are not at all the "real deal." Use the Blue Mill Tavern Loosemeat Sandwiches posted here instead if looking for MaidRites like they have in Iowa!"
"Left out the celery for personal preference and replaced 1 can of the black beans with a can of pintos with jalapeno peppers. Used 1 mini orange and 1 mini yellow bell peppers in place of the green bells and did not measure the onion, just chopped one up in the mini processor, along with the bell peppers. Great flavor. Next time, may roast the ..."
"Wonderful crust! Did not use the pie recipe, but instead used this crust with the Fresh Peach Brown Sugar Pie found on this site. Yummm. UPDATE: Again, such a wonderful crust! This time, used the pie recipe today as well, adding 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to the filling. Yummy, yummy, yummy"
"Very tasty - just like mom used to make! Added a little more sugar, as Himself likes his cornbread sweeter than most, and did not have a cast iron skillet so just added the melted butter to the liquids and sprayed a casserole with Pam instead. Thanks for sharing"
"This is such an easy recipe and the instructions are so clear, it was a breeze. After proofing the yeast, mixed it all in the mixer and used the dough hook just a couple of minutes. Used 1 cup whole grain flour, as suggested by the chef. Baked for 10 minutes before adding toppings, then it only needed another 10. Next time, might add some Itali..."
"Made the Taco Burgers with this - halved everything for the two of us and used jalapeno refried beans, so left out the cayenne and green chilis (hubby sweats with anything spicier than catsup). Used 1/4 cup water, tho. Topped our burgers with fresh tomato and red onion slices and American cheese. He and I both thought they were great. Thanks f..."
