Hello, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by my "home." I am a retired school teacher and live in Hemingway, South Carolina, which is about 40 miles from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences(formerly,Home Economics). I now work at the Boys & Girls Club of America here in my hometown. I also am a substitute teacher. Once a teacher, always a teacher.
I enjoy cooking, especially for friends and family. I even prepare meals for my co-workers and take to work. They really enjoy them. Some foods I prepare, they have never had. My biggest meal of the year is at Christmas. Since I am not married and no children, my mother (since my father passed in 2003) and brother and his family comes for Christmas dinner. He has 8 children (whom are all grown up) and 7 grandchildren. So, I begin preparing, making the menu, buying items for dinner the day after Thanksgiving.

My favorite food is seafood. I like all seafood, unless there is some strange creature that has been discovered lately. The strangest that friends would say I like is ocotpus and squid. I am always trying to find new ways to prepare seafood.
I guess you can say I am famous for my broccoli casserole. This is always demanded at dinners. Now, I am going to try another recipe for it I found on Zaar. I hope I don't disappoint my family for Christmas.
Fun for me is cooking, fishing and relaxing.
My biggest accomplishment is having been a teacher and reaching as many young minds and seeing some of those become teachers, doctors, lawyers, mothers, fathers, citizens of the society is a really good feeling.
NOTE: 12/26/07 I made the crab broccoli casserole for Christmas, it was a hit.
