Reviewed Red Velvet Cake
"I made this for a friends birthday and it is one delicious cake. I used 2 sticks of butter in the cake and I tripled the frosting recipe. Reviewed Tourtiere (aka Meat Pie
"This makes a really good Tourtiere. I made half the recipe into 2 pies, last Christmas, baked one and froze the other unbaked which we enjoyed the following month. I live in sunny California but am originally from Montreal and have lived in several states over the years. I am a wife, a mother and I have a degree in foods and nutrition and have worked in the food industry most of my career. I am a passionate baker and collector of cookbooks- especially baking and dessert books and community cookbooks but I have hundreds of various types. My family are my biggest fans but I love to bake for friends and coworkers as well. I enjoy traveling, eating out, reading and spending time at home . My pet peeve is people who won't share recipes- I mean, come on... which is why I love recipezaar- it's a giant recipe swap!
My favorite things to cook are soups and international dishes. I especially love asian and latin flavors. I love to try new recipes and different cuisines. I am well known for my baking and my cinnamon rolls are a favorite. My daughter is a vegan which provides lots of opportunity for me to experiment with different ingredients and techniques. I love to bake pies and tarts, cookies and cakes as well as bread. Really, I will try just about any recipe- I am pretty fearless that way and love to experiment. When we eat out I often order fish or seafood and I love salads, good bread and dessert.
