    About Me

    I love to cook comfort food as well as experiment using fresh local ingredients whenever possible. I am currently focusing on eco-friendly cooking and reducing the amount of meat I consume for both health and environmental reasons. I do not intend to become a complete vegetarian or vegan but I think making 3-4 meals/week meatless CAN make a difference.

    I have a weekly diary series on Daily Kos called Tasty Bits and I also frequently contribute to the weekly series What's For Dinner?.

    My lasagna has elicited marriage proposals from both men & womenWink

    I'm know as the "soup queen" among many of my friends, especially for my corn chowder and my kielbasa & cabbage soup.

    Favorite things to eat when I'm not cooking:

    Indian- samosas, pork vindalhoo, vegetable kofta

    Thai- Tom Kha Gai soup

    Hot soft pretzels w/lots of salt and spicy mustard or cheese sauce
