"The texture and crust of this bread were fine. We thought it lacked flavor. Needs more spice and definitely more raisins."
"This cooking technique makes a very tender, flavorful roast. I cooked a ~3 lb rump roast and it was fork tender. For our taste, will reduce the salt to 1 T and the pepper to 1 1/2 T. I also like the suggestion from other reviewers to add Worcestershire sauce w/ the liquid smoke and will try that next time. Thanks for sharing this recipe."
"We have all been sick with the "crud" and in need of good comfort food. This was the answer. Super easy to put together, and sooo delicious. Served with mashed potatoes with that incredible gravy. Thanks for sharing what is sure to become a regular at our house."
"This is a Taste of Home recipe. I used one apple per the original recipe. The stew was very chunky with just a little broth. I think it could stand more broth with a little thickener. Seasoning was just right for my taste."
"One of the best recipes I've tried this year. Only change I made was reduced cilantro to 2 T (not a big fan). This has great flavor, very filling and healthy. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for posting."
"Made this awhile ago and forgot to review it. Made it more recently for a work Cajun-themed potluck. Everyone enjoyed it. Made no changes and thought the flavors mingled well together. Just spicy enough without being too hot. Thanks for posting."
"This is a Taste of Home recipe. Liked the idea of this, but was not enjoyed by us. The garlic powder was too much for our taste and gave the sauce a weird aftertaste. Maybe sauteeing fresh chopped garlic with the ground beef would work better. Or could use our favorite homemade spaghetti meat sauce. With those changes, this has potential."
"Had a bunch of my kids' friends over hanging out. They all wanted sloppy joes, so tried this out on them. Added just a little prepared mustard, cause couldn't taste the dry. Also would decrease celery to one rib. Easy to prepare and we enjoyed it. Thanks."
