Reviewed Lamb and Wild Mushroom Shepherd's Pie

"We really loved this recipe. It's a bit of a job to make, but delicious. I used leftover leg of lamb that we had marinated and grilled a couple of days before and it was very good, although I only simmered the whole thing for around 30 minutes since the lamb had been previously cooked. I also used a dehydrated mix of wild mushrooms that I already h..."

    Reviewed High-Altitude Banana Bread

"I've lived in Colorado for 16 years and one of the few baked items that's always given me trouble here was banana bread. Until now! This recipe baked up perfectly. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting it. I added a little vanilla and substituted 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce for the 4 tablespoons butter and still had success. No sunken or m..."

"I made these for a high school parent/student pot luck dinner and it was a big hit. I brought a double recipe and there wasn't a bit left over. I used chicken breast, but instead in plain water, I used chicken broth. Made the meat very tender and added nice flavor directly to the meat."

    About Me

I work full-time, am raising two teenagers and spend too much time on the road for work. When I can, I like nothing more than cooking for my family. Canning is a passion, especially finding and trying out unusual recipes for jams, jellies, fruit butters and sauces.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite food to eat is lobster, simply steamed.

I'm famous for jams and jellies, but especially my peach salsa which I make from peaches off the tree in our front yard.

    My favorite restaurants are:

    Sushi Den for sushi.

    Luca D'Italia for Italian.

    Briarwood for brunch.

    Le Central for inexpensive French.

    Racines for dessert!
