Reviewed Almond Cake from Albufeira, Portugal

     |  By Sage

"Such an easy and delicious cake - it reminds me a little bit of a semolina cake we order from a Middle Eastern restaurant - the cake is nice and syrupy with the crunch of almonds on top. I will caution you that the almonds toast very quickly - no more than 3 mins under the broiler. Also, I doubled the almond extract - you may want to do a little..."

"This is our new every week recipe - the sauce is delicious and there's just the right amount of cheese. We swapped corn tortillas for whole wheat flour tortillas and then served with salsa and sour cream as well. So easy!"

"I think I must have done something wrong here, as this recipe was not a hit at all. It certainly felt healthy and chock full of veggies, but the filling was somewhat bland and I thought more of a sauce was needed. One of the few recipes that I have decided not to make again."

"We made this salad and loved it - from the red grapes, to the sweet n' savory pecans to the tangy/creamy dressing, it was a hit. I added green apple slices, grape tomatoes and green olives to the salad."

     |  By Cinnamon Turtle

"I made the muffaletta relish and used store bought hummus (and also substituted deli thins for pitas - overall, very tasty and I would probably whip up another batch just to make an easy lunch during the week. The muffaletta relish is ok, but not what I remember from NOLA - in combination with the hummus & bread, it is delicious! Very easy to m..."

    Reviewed Passion Fruit-Pineapple Punch

"I made a real cocktail out of this recipe using rum. I also minimized the amount of lime juice to just a tsp for kick. You should drink this immediately after making it, as the coconut milk has a way of looking kind of odd after it's been sitting. Overall, it tasted like key lime pie/pina colada in a glass and was pretty delicious."
