    About Me

    We are fairly new to sunny So. CA. This is a great place to garden, which is our favorite past time. My favorite hobby is sewing as well as general crafting. I just really like making things for our home. I cook fresh meals every day for my family. I don't have a favorite cookbook, but I have collected LOTS of good recipes from various cooking websites to assemble my own ring binders of favorite recipes. Since discovering Recipezaar, it has become my favorite recipe website. Such a variety of recipes to choose from ? it?s amazing ? and I REALLY like reading helpful reviews.

    The only pet peeve I may have is when some people cook with mushrooms in EVERYTHING! And the same people can't seem to resist mixing Avocados in with their green salads. I'm deathly allergic to both! We like to eat out once in a great while to celebrate a special occasion and I have to sometimes ask about the mushrooms and avocados hate that!

    DH and I really enjoy making bread. I'm always looking for good bread recipes, as we like giving fresh baked bread to our friends, family and neighbors during the holidays especially the ones that do well in the mini loaf pans.

    Favorite Foods

    My favorite thing to cook is probably Beer Can Chicken on the BBQ, mostly because it's so FAST, EASY and delicious and because you can change the taste by changing the spices! Gotta? love that versatility! It also might be what I?m best known for.

    I like to hear the ?Oh?s and aha?s and see the disbelief on my guests' faces when I put the chickens on the grill. First timers are totally taken with this and can barely believe the chicken tastes so delicious! I normally use ½ chicken per person as we really like having leftovers for lunch the next day!

    My all time favorite meal is Thanksgiving Turkey with all the trimmings! This is THE ONE WEEK OF THE YEAR I truly enjoy cooking! I also try really hard to schedule this meal again in the spring before the summer heat sets in. My family loves this meal too. We usually have a ham for Christmas and I make either Manicotti or Chicken Enchiladas for New Years dinner.

    Favorite restaurant is Black Angus. Their Prime Rib is to-die-for! In all the years we have been going there, we've never had a bad meal, and more times than not the prime rib can be cut with a fork! And then melts in your mouth!
