    About Me

I love all things food, cooking, baking, preserving, and also the actual growing of food. I work at a bakery as a pastry chef and am married to an avid home-brewer of some really fantastic beer. In what spare time that I can find, I make soap, cold process soaps with lye. Like old fashioned soap. I use my husband's beers and vegetables, herbs, and flowers from my own garden in my soaps. It's summer now so I am doing a ton of canning with all the fresh fruit and veggies available. Food is my passion each and every day =)

    Favorite Foods

I love heirloom tomatoes in every color of the rainbow, homemade breads and pizzas, seasonal fruit preserves, soup in nearly any form and flavor, charcuterie, most cheeses, pickeled vegetables, fried chicken, caesar salad from scratch, olives, sushi, jasmine rice, beef cheeks and marrow bones, fruit tarts, french cookies and pastries, bacon and other cured pork products, anchovies, capers, and pretty much anything european, asian, or latin. Not a timid taster and prefer to make as much as I possibly can from scratch.
