"I followed the recipe and found the pancake too sweet and it stuck to the bottom of the pan. I did learn something valuable. I want to thank Magnolia Pancake Haus for the sweating apple slices with spices in a dry pan over med-low heat cooking tip. Challenged, I dug out my Swedish grandmother's recipe for ungspannkaka. Her secrets were use ..."

"I wanted a quick, easy recipe to top a sweet ungspannkaka - Swedish oven pancake. It worked great, and looked yummy inside the bowl like structure of the puffy pancake. Thanks Babycat for a keeper."

"I lived in Costa Rica for ten years and traveled extensively. I have eaten many versions of Gallo Pinto.
A few myths need to be addressed. First, Gallo Pinto is not exclusively Costa Rican. Nicaragua also claims Gallo Pinto as a national dish, but uses red beans instead. It is found in many forms in many places around the Caribbean. ..."

"This is a winner! I double up the lettuce on the bottom but topped off each layer with strips of bacon instead of lettuce. I always get rave reviews from friends and relatives. Thanks Martini Guy."

"A good black bean and rice recipe. A authentic Costa Rican Gallo Pinto needs Salsa Lizano or more than double the recommended Worcestershire Sauce. Tabasco sauce and bacon are usually adds to a basic recipe. I would up the portions of onion and sweet bell pepper to 1/4 cup, and add a minced clove of garlic for the last minute of vegetables saut..."

"This is a good basic Gallo Pinto recipe. This dish is so popular that McDonald's offers McPinto. I lived in Costa Rica for 10 years, and cooked Gallo Pinto most mornings for breakfast topped with a fried egg and strip of bacon. It stays with you all morning. I traveled extensively throughout the country and eat numerous versions of this dish. ..."

"This is simple to make and tastes delicious. I have made this several times for family and as a dish to pass at parties. I like to add about a 1/4 cup of finely chopped celery for a bit of crunch. I often serve this salad with cantaloupe and club crackers. Thanks!"

"This is a great recipe. The pork was so juicy. The only change I'm going to make the next time I do this recipe is to leave off the flour in Step one, and pan sear the chops in some butter. The steam given off by the resting meat in Step 6 left the floured surface mushy. The onion sauce was wonderful. My 17 month old grandson, who hates PB&J,..."

"I did this for a special brunch, and it was easy to make. It was great! I used a nice ciabatta cut into thick slices. I made one change by toasting the pecans in a half stick of butter for ten minutes before added the rest of the butter, sugar, and maple syrup. The casserole was a hit with our guests. Thanks!"

"Awesome! Apple crisp is one of my favorite desserts. I live in Costa Rica, and our brown sugar is a bit different from the USA. So, I substituted 1/4 cup white sugar and reduce the brown to 1/2 cup. I also substituted muesli for rolled oats, because I couldn't find any in our store (Thanks Jayne from Oz for your suggestion. I painted the pla..."
