... or, to be more precise, I do have recent activity but I've chosen not to share it (the all-inclusive nature of the journal is a wee bit much for a private person like me ;-)
I love recipes. I'm not an intuitive cook at all and cannot do a thing in the kitchen on instinct - gimme ingredient lists, amounts and directions and I'll be very happy! I'm slowly developing a *bit* of a sense for how things work, but I don't think I'll be developing original recipes anytime soon (and I'm far more likely to come up with a cake recipe than anything in the main dish arena - I'm really more of a baker)! In addition to eating, baking and cooking (in that order ;-), I love cats (have four!), Kate Bush's music and Terry Pratchett's and Haruki Murakami's books.
I co-host the Scandinavian forum with Lilla, come and visit!
Chicken smetana casserole, chickpea curry and Cuban black beans. I LOVE Indian food. As far as Finnish cuisine goes, I love a good elk or reindeer stew with mashed potatoes, and warm Karelian pasties with egg butter.
I have a sweet tooth the size of Mount Everest. Love chocolate, cinnamon rolls and cheesecake. I'm also very passionate about salmiakki, salted black liquorice (for lack of a better term!).
And, I think sparkling wine goes well with *everything*!
I'm also one of those tiresome people who *will* point out that it's champagne only if it comes from the area of Champagne in France. ;-)
