    About Me

I have lived in Cental Virginia my whole life. Currently I live in Chesterfield County, which is just outside of Richmond. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I currently work as as an emergency services therapist for one of the local Community Services Boards. I have been married since 2000. My husband works for UPS. Cooking is one of my very favorite hobbies. I just love to read cooking magazines, watch cooking shows, surf the net for cooking web sites, read cook books and of course get into the kitchen. My husband calls me the "mad scientist" when I am in the kitchen. I tend to be a VERY messy cook! I think my favorite cookbook is The Cook's Bible by Christopher Kimball. I have other past times as well. I love to Garden and work out at the gym. If I had a month off I would travel at a leisurely pace to Europe or maybe even Hawaii.

    Favorite Foods

I imagine this might sound a little strange coming from someone who loves to experiment with Gourmet cooking, but I think one of my all time favorite foods is pizza. I have experimented with making all different types myself, but honestly I like take out a lot too! My favorite type of dishes to make are braises. I have been concocting some of my own creations, but have not gotten the confidence to post them as of yet. My husband just adores my sweet potato souffle and bourbon pork tenderloin. My extended family is always asking me to do something "different" so I have "international" suppers at my house and experienment with different cusines. I also experienment with making all different types of soup. Mostly that is just for me; I freeze individual serving and carry that to work for my lunch. Going out to different restaurants is another little hobby of mine. My husband and myself try to go to a different place every week.
