I'm a 40 mother of two boys (ahem..young men should I say). My husband and I have recently found ourselves to be empty nesters with the boys (young men) having moved out. After twenty five years I know it's going to be hard to adjust to making meals for just two after having to cook half a lamb every night to feed us (only joking about half the lamb but its close).
However, I have two dogs that fill the gap for my need to mother and feed. They make me laugh and are such time wasters.
I tend to have fads with my foods but I love comfort food. I love Greek and Italian food and am lucky enough to have had greek and italian clients that share their recipes with me and will show me how to cook them. I grew up with a stay at home mum who cooked a huge variety of different foods for us so our palates have been accustomed to all sorts of weird and wonderful things. My mum passed on her love of cooking onto me and now I am 'trying' to teach my sons how to cook their favourite meals so I can feel secure in the knowledge that they wont starve when they eventually move out of home ; )
