Why DH Married Me ~ My cucumber salad & I make him laugh
Joined: Feb 25, 2006
Birthday: Feb 22
I've been a marriage transplant from Dallas to Iceland since retiring in July of 2003 to become Siggi's Kitchen Queen, Then I became a RZ addict thx to SusieQusie, my long-time friend in Dallas who got me well-hooked on RZ. I "mess" w/recipes because I get inspired, but more often due to ingredient or expense issues in Iceland. I'm devoted to the MORE IS BETTER principle: If anything is really good, then more of it is always better - esp butter & garlic!
MY REVIEWS ~ I choose recipes that I fully expect to please our palates & that has most freq been the case. I occ have ingredient issues or pers pref (like everyone), but I don't penalize a recipe in that case. I will reduce a * rating if I feel an ingredient is excessive (or lacking), if the prep is faulted or when a recipe lacks a certain WOW FACTOR worthy of 5* IMHO. If I produce a negative result inconsistent w/other reviews, I assume I've made an error & don't penalize a recipe. We all know reviews are subjective by their very nature, so pls take no offense. I try to make constructive comments & do it kindly ... & I welcome the same courtesy in reviews of my recipes.
FROM ME TO YOU ~ PLS use the Helpful Vote Option! It really does help when there are many reviews to read. ... I generally try to choose recipes that are unreviewed, need a photo or both. However, I am doing less photography now & that courtesy is not guaranteed. ... I've been very "review-blessed" by my fellow chefs, value your comments & want to say a big "THANKS" to ea of you. So pls accept this msg of thanks w/my gratitude for all past & future reviews.
= The time at any given moment in my part of the world. :-)
AMERICAN ~ Living in Iceland makes you crave BEEF in all its real glory ~ like charburgers at Goldie's Patio Grill, prime-rib at Charleston's & everything at Ridge Grill (all in Tulsa). Then there's Tex-Mex fare & great Margaritas at Ted's Cafe Escondido in Tulsa. Esp worthy of mention from my dys in Dallas is Via Real for its great southwest fare & killer Margaritas
ICELANDIC ~ Seafood & lamb. Yum!
EUROPEAN ~ Sauces Czech & German fare.
OVERALL ~ All things impressive, easy & make ahead!
