    About Me

Zel Allen is the author of Vegan for the Holidays, a cookbook that's bound to make the holidays from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day just a little tastier. Zel wanted to create a cookbook that was not only for vegans but also for non-vegetarians who want to serve lavish seasonal dishes that just may stand in for the traditional Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham.

In The Nut Gourmet, a vegan cookbook filled with 150 tantalizing nut-filled recipes, she covers the many health benefits of eating nuts frequently and also includes tips and tricks for working with nuts, nutritional charts, and nut resources.

Along with her husband, Zel co-publishes Vegetarians in Paradise, a friendly online vegan magazine offering a vast array of resources for the vegan community. The website receives an average of 100,000 visitors monthly from people all over the globe seeking information about the vegan diet and lifestyle along with innovative recipes.

Because Zel is fond of exotic foreign cuisines, she enjoys veganizing those tasty dishes from countries like Afghanistan, the Philippines, and Chile. Her creative recipes led to travel and food articles that appear in The Vegetarian Journal. With these articles archived online at www.vrg.org, readers are able to enjoy Camels and Caravans: from Afghanistan to the Vegan Table; Living Among the Coconuts: Filipino Cuisine to Grace the Vegan Table; and Chile Sin Carne, a feast of Chilean dishes.

Zel's recipes and articles frequently appear in the Healthy Kitchen at www.Healthy.net, a website that features a galaxy of health articles and features. When Zel is not creating tasty alchemy in the kitchen, she ponders more nutty endeavors at her Nut Gourmet Blog nutgourmet.wordpress.com, a cozy niche for tons of nutty fun and fascinating nut facts from recipes and nut quotations in the Bible to nut studies and nut humor.
