I am from the NE corner of the great state of South Dakota---yes, people really live here! : ) I live with my hubby, 12-year-old son, and 14-year-old daughter. Older daughter (age 25) is out of the nest, but comes over dinner every now and then... actually, she shows up at supper time A LOT! : ) It can be a challenge to cook to please all of them. So hopefully Food.com will help us find some menu items we can all enjoy!
Hubby and I really enjoy cooking together, particularly on the grill, which has been highly successful both in regards to taste and fun!
My husband was severely injured in a horrific accident about three years ago; it has been totally life-altering. However, one thing we can still do (and enjoy very much!) is cooking.
I like Italian food; hubby is a reformed meat-n-taters kind of guy. He is a really good cook, but has a hard time cooking healthy. So that is where I must step in! We have really changed our way of eating over the last three years or so ... we try to utilize whole grains and have greatly increased our fruit and vegetable consumption.
I don't really have any specialties, although my linguine & clam sauce is to die for if I do say so myself! I usually take baked beans (my top-secret recipe!!) to family gatherings. Or pasta salad, which I make up as I go along and is a bit different each time! My favorite restaurant is a Brazilian place in a nearby town called Carnaval where the spit-fire grilled meats arrive in copious supply ... It's also a nice touch that they are delivered by hottie McTottie gauchos!
