"Nice and light! Like PaulaG, I also used fresh strawberries and ice cubes. I measured 1 and 1/4 cups Canada Dry soda water and squeezed one lime into them. (I could've used 1/2 a lime, but I really like my smoothies lime-y. A great drink on a warm day!"

"I really enjoyed this recipe--easy to make and easy to serve! Made some substitutions: I didn't have a cinnamon stick, and I threw in some raisins in the second simmer as well as a teaspoon of cardamon and an extra teaspoon of lemon rind (on top of the 1/2 teaspoon in the recipe.Then a dash of cinnamon on the top before serving...fabulous! "Very easy to make. I used sour cherries off our tree (make sure you drain them really well if you do the same. The cake turned out well, if not a little dry (so keep a close eye on it. I served it warm with a side of vanilla ice cream. Tasty!"
